1. Welcome to Berks Hematology Oncology Associates, Ltd.
BHOA is committed to providing the best possible medical care to our patients. Our patients' interests must always come first. Healthcare is our business, our chosen profession, and we take our responsibility seriously. We are committed to behaving according to the highest legal, ethical, respectful, and moral standards, both as individuals and as a business organization.
2. History of BHOA:BHOA was founded by Dr. Charles "Jack" Lusch in 1968. Dr. Lusch was in private practice from then until the present. Dr. Harry E. Ramsey, Jr. joined Dr. Lusch in 1974, followed by Dr. Teresa M. Mercurio in 1978 (she retired in 2001), Dr. Nick C. Leasure in 1989, Dr. Terrence P. Cescon in 1994, Dr. Simi Rai in 2001, Dr. David Lu in 2003, Dr. Daniel Forman in 2006, and Drs. Ajay Sehgal and Tamam Habib in 2007.
BHOA is a Professional Corporation, registered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. BHOA was originally located exclusively in Suite 220 at the Doctors' Office Building. In 1999, we expanded, acquiring space in suite 235. In 2002, we expanded again, sub-leasing space in Suites 330 and 323. In October, 2005, we moved into our 32,000 sq. ft. suite in "N" Building, still on the campus of TRHMC.
3. Mission and Values:BHOA's mission is to provide the highest quality health care in our specialty of oncology and hematology. BHOA values honesty, integrity and respectful behavior in all our dealings with each other, patients and all other stakeholders.
